“Pottery is the product of time and effort.”

Technicians who have reached their peak will be those who constantly find details in repetitive actions. Those who recognize the joy of action that comes from the details are the true potters.

Ceramic artist, Jeong Yeong-min of Dojeonyo, can be said to be a potter who is in harmony with the act of making pottery. He said that starting pottery by chance at the age of 18 was the best choice for him, partly because there is no retirement age. As such, he is a potter who expects the times he will go through as much as the time he has gone through.

He believes that the joy of finding pottery is still innumerable. In particular, he enjoys making Buncheong porcelain. About the fun of making Buncheong porcelain full of unexpected things, he said:

"Buncheong pottery is a beautiful and exciting element in the color of an accidental phenomenon created by the difference in fire temperature in the kiln."

"Buncheong pottery is a beautiful and exciting element in the color of an accidental phenomenon created by the difference in fire temperature in the kiln."

For him, making pottery, presenting it to people, and communicating with him is like playing a fun game. It is surprising that his playing with fire undergoes [thixotropes] every time and creates one-of-a-kind works of art each time.

Thixotropy definition: It means a strange whim, and it refers to a beautiful pattern created on the surface of ceramics by fire.
